Shannon & Wilson, Inc. is a Seattle-based, employee-owned geotechnical engineering firm seeking a Geotechnical Engineer. Responsibilities include analyses, field explorations, report writing, lab testing, and client coordination across project sites.

Qualifications include a BS in Civil Engineering with MS/PhD in Geotechnical Engineering preferred, 0–6 years’ experience, Engineer-in-Training, and progressing toward PE licensure. Travel to support multiple offices is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering; MS or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering strongly preferred.
• 0 - 6 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training Certificate obtained or in process.
• On track to obtain PE License.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical engineering and geological analyses and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering and other reports.
• Perform field explorations, sampling, mapping, and reconnaissance.
• Provide construction observation and document logs.
• Perform geotechnical lab testing and communicate results.
• Interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
• Support marketing activities, including cost proposals.
• Follow QA, Health & Safety, and Loss Prevention policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
