Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. seeks a geotechnical professional for our Wakefield, MA office to work on transportation, infrastructure, buildings, dams, and waterfront projects.

The role includes subsurface explorations, instrumentation, design, and construction support, with opportunities to develop a wide range of experience. The candidate will perform field explorations, analyze lab data, develop spreadsheets, prepare memos and drawings in AutoCAD, and contribute to technical specifications, reports,

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical is required.
• MS in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
• 0 to 3+ years of experience.
• Excellent writing and general communication skills.
• Working knowledge of CAD. Experience in Civil 3D or GIS a plus.
• Ability to perform field work on construction sites without restrictions, in inclement weather.
• Willingness and ability to travel 25% or more.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field explorations and testing.
• Coordinate and interpret lab test data.
• Develop spreadsheets and databases.
• Perform engineering analysis and calculations.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, and construction specifications.
• Observe and document construction activities.
• Prepare and modify drawings using AutoCad.
