Geotechnical / Construction Materials Testing Technician - Appleton, WI

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical/Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team in our Appleton, Wisconsin office. We are a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services. The technician will perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials according to standards and company policies. Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform geotechnical and construction materials testing of soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt on various projects.
2. Conduct asphalt mix laboratory testing, including grain size analysis, extraction, and specific gravity tests.
3. Perform soil and asphalt compaction/density testing to ensure conformance to specifications.
4. Test concrete during placement for compliance with project standards.
5. Obtain and deliver samples to the laboratory for testing.
6. Prepare and submit daily field reports with observations, test calculations, and results.
7. Coordinate with laboratory and on-site personnel regarding testing schedules and requirements.
8. Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and laboratory workspace.
9. Organize and process test samples in the lab and report test data.
10. Subject to background checks, driving record checks, and drug testing for field work involving company vehicles.
11. Work hours are generally 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, with occasional early or late days as workload demands.

Required Skills

Required Experience

Candidates should have:

• A bachelor's degree in a science-related field, or
• An associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, or
