Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service. Demand Field Service Technicians perform service in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will work closely with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point and delivering quality service. Based in Greater Houston, TX or Lake Charles to Baton Rouge, LA, you will be expected to work independently and as part of a team according to customer and contract requirements. The work model for this role is: #LI - Remote. You will contribute to the Process Automation Energy Industries Division in Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA area. Your main responsibilities include:

1. Providing site service to ensure safe and efficient plant operation using ABB Symphony+ or 800xA Distributed Control System.
2. Performing periodic, routine, preventive maintenance, and shutdown support, with additional support from ABB Technical and Advanced Services as needed.
3. Troubleshooting low-complexity hardware and software issues related to the distributed control system and managing technical support requests to optimize system performance.
4. Maintaining customer database logs of calls and support provided.
5. Recommending ABB solutions to improve system performance and expand service scope.
6. Communicating effectively with all site stakeholders to meet or exceed expectations.
7. Responding to customer inquiries with accuracy and timeliness, and following up to ensure effectiveness of technical advice.
8. Supporting hardware and software upgrades, system modifications, and additions, both online and offline.

Qualifications for the role

• Associates Degree preferred, or high-school diploma with military technical training. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience or a combination of education and proven accomplishments.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 80%.
• Mentorship and development to support providing outstanding field service of ABB Symphony+ or 800xA Distributed Control System.
• Relocation assistance available within the South region if needed.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence, effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork, customer focus, and professionalism.
• Fluent in English and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Legal work authorization for employment in the US.
