Job summary

10x Genomics, Inc. is seeking an Account Executive for the East Los Angeles and San Diego academic territories.

This field-based role drives Chromium, Visium, and Xenium adoption within top academic and government accounts, leveraging deep single cell and spatial biology knowledge. The successful candidate will plan territory strategy, build strong customer relationships, and guide customers from awareness through adoption with a consultative approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field or equivalent knowledge/experience.
• 2+ years of life science sales experience in academic or biotech sectors.
• Extensive knowledge of single cell and spatial biology tools.
• Ability to travel as needed for field-based role.
• Proven ability to establish long-term customer relationships and close new business.
• Strong customer-facing skills with research institutions and grant environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a territory plan to meet/exceed goals.
• Consult with customers on technology solutions with credible expertise.
• Demonstrate funnel management with forecasting, pipeline and CRM usage.
• Build trust and understand research needs to provide right solutions.
• Stay current on genomics market trends and customer ecosystems.
• Collaborate with sales/support teams to drive adoption and utilization of products.
• Manage post-purchase relationships to identify future opportunities.
• Contribute to rigorous business/territory planning and forecasting.
• Maintain knowledge of genetic analysis markets and buying practices.
