Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Gene Editing Core seeks a Research Technician II to support genome editing, CRISPR-based perturbation screening, iPSC reprogramming, and related molecular workflows in a fast-paced core facility at our Cambridge lab site. You will perform mammalian cell culture, DNA/RNA work, and QC assays across multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on research experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology.
  • Experience with genome editing and basic sequencing workflows is preferred.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support genome editing and CRISPR-based perturbation workflows.
  • Maintain and culture mammalian cell lines including iPSCs and primary cells.
  • Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, and plasmid prep.
  • Support CRISPR-based editing and genotyping of edited clones.
  • Assist with NGS library prep and sequencing QC.
  • Conduct cell characterization using immunofluorescence and microscopy.
  • Keep accurate records and sample inventories; document results.
  • Assist with inventory, equipment maintenance, and core operations.
