Job summary

Mass General Brigham Incorporated in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a Research Technician II to support genome editing, iPSC reprogramming, and associated molecular workflows within the Gene Editing Core. You will culture mammalian cells, perform DNA/RNA work, and generate high-quality data under SOPs in a fast-paced core facility.

Ideal candidates have basic CRISPR knowledge, hands-on lab experience, and strong organization, with a commitment to rigorous documentation and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 1–2 years hands-on research experience including mammalian cell culture.
• Experience with iPSC maintenance, passaging, cryopreservation, or differentiation.
• Familiarity with CRISPR/Cas9 and genome-editing technologies.
• Experience with transfection/nucleofection and lentiviral vector production.
• NGS library prep experience.

Responsibilities

• Support genome editing, CRISPR perturbation screening, iPSC reprogramming, and lentiviral workflows.
• Maintain and culture mammalian cell lines including human iPSCs.
• Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, and plasmid preparation.
• Support NGS workflows including library preparation and QC.
• Perform cell characterization such as immunofluorescence and microscopy.
• Maintain accurate experimental records, sample inventories, and documentation per SOPs.
• Assist with troubleshooting and optimization of workflows under supervision.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and workflow improvements.
