Job summary

Taylor Sudden Service in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a full-time service technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel/gas engines and generator sets on customer sites. You will plan work with the Service Manager, bring and install parts, and ensure machines run correctly.

This role requires problem solving, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines including servicing and repairing.
• Some electrical experience and knowledge of wiring; able to read diagrams.
• Power generation experience would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan effective work and travel schedule with Service Manager, prioritizing customer needs.
• Diagnose malfunctions; repair/replace parts; install assemblies; adjust devices and controls.
• Provide tools and arrange facilities to perform repair work, usually at customer premises.
• Inspect, operate, and test machines on delivery, intervals, and after repairs to ensure proper function.
• Document customer, machine details, time, mileage, and billing information.
• Perform preventative maintenance on generators, change fluids/filters, inspect AC/DC systems, belts, hoses, exhausts.
• Conduct load bank testing and test automatic transfer switches.
• Complete paperwork and checklists for each inspection.
• Pursue ongoing training and maintain professional image; assist with supervising/mentoring other technicians.
