Job summary

Sudden Service, INC provides nationwide support for Taylor OEM parts and generator service, with a focus on field service to customer sites. The role involves planning work, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance on diesel and gas engines, including generator sets and transfer switches.

The technician will travel to customer locations, file inspection reports, and support on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• DOT certification; must be 21+ to be certified.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines preferred.
• Electrical experience and ability to read diagrams.
• AC and DC power generation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consults with Service Manager to plan effective work and travel schedule.
• Provides tools and parts and arranges for facilities to perform repair work at customer sites.
• Reports on customer info, machine, malfunction, and time for billing.
• Performs preventative maintenance on generator sets and related components.
• Load bank testing and testing of automatic transfer switches.
• Completes required paperwork and checklists for inspections.
• Occasionally stays overnight at out-of-town locations.
• On-call 24/7 as needed.
