Job summary

Taylor Sudden Service is seeking a field technician to diagnose, repair, and service generator sets at customer sites. You will plan travel with the Service Manager, procure parts, and ensure machines operate correctly after service. The role requires hands-on electrical knowledge and diesel/generator experience.

Employees provide on-site training, maintain tool sets, and complete accurate service paperwork. Travel and overnight stays may be required. A valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines is required.
• Electrical knowledge including wiring diagrams.
• AC and DC knowledge helpful.
• Power generation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan work and travel with Service Manager, prioritizing customer needs.
• Diagnose malfunctions, repair/replace parts, install assemblies and adjust controls.
• Provide tools and arrange facilities to perform repairs at customer sites.
• Inspect, operate, and test machines on delivery, intervals, and after repair.
• Document customer data, machine details, and service time for billing.
