Job summary

Sudden Service, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX seeks a skilled service technician specializing in diesel and gas generators. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs, and install assemblies at customer sites, sometimes requiring on-site travel.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance on generator sets, testing gensets, coordinating with the Service Manager, and documenting work orders. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, on-call rotation, and a valid Class D license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines; servicing and repair.
• Electrical knowledge and ability to read wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Consults with Service Manager to plan effective work and travel schedule, giving priority to customer need.
• Diagnoses malfunctions; repairs and/or replaces worn and defective parts; installs new assemblies, adjusts devices and controls.
• Provides tools and parts and arranges for facilities to perform repair work (usually on customer premises).
• Inspects, operates, and tests machine upon initial delivery, at inspection intervals, and after repairs.
• Reports to Service Manager with customer, machine, and job details for proper billing.
• Performs preventative maintenance on generator sets, including fluids, filters, belts, and electrical systems.
• Stays updated on skills through training; trains/ Supervises fellow servicemen when needed.
• Maintains neat appearance and professional conduct when interacting with customers.
