Job summary

MISO is seeking an Engineer II – Generator Interconnection to evaluate new and changing generation across the footprint. You will assist with power system studies that determine how generation can reliably interconnect to the transmission system, while serving as a technical resource for interconnection customers, Transmission Owners, and neighboring RTOs.

This role combines technical power system analysis, problem solving, and customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of job-related experience.
• Experience with power system planning or operations is a plus.
• Experience with PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT or VSAT is advantageous.
• Energy industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with system impact studies for generator interconnection requests in MISO's Generator Interconnection Queue.
• Review projects proposed by Transmission Owners and provide technical recommendations based on power system analysis and reliability requirements.
• Assist with assigned projects and communicate study results and requirements to interconnection customers, Transmission Owners, neighboring RTOs, and internal teams.
