Job summary

Midcontinent-Independent-System in Carmel, IN (also Eagan, MN and Little Rock, AR) seeks an Engineer II – Generator Interconnection to evaluate new and changing generation across the MISO footprint and perform power system studies.

You will coordinate studies from kickoff through completion, interact with interconnection customers, Transmission Owners, and neighboring RTOs, and help determine how generation connects reliably to the transmission network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience in generator interconnection analysis is beneficial.
• Specific power system planning or operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with system impact studies for generator interconnection in MISO’s queue, evaluating reliability impacts.
• Review projects proposed by Transmission Owners with technical recommendations based on reliability requirements.
• Assist with projects, communicating study results and requirements to interconnection customers and stakeholders.
