Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is seeking an Engineer II – Generator Interconnection in Carmel, IN (with options in MN or AR). This role focuses on evaluating new generation interconnections, performing power system studies, and serving as a technical resource for customers and stakeholders across the MISO footprint.

You’ll coordinate studies from kickoff to completion, communicate results, and contribute to reliability as the grid evolves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering technology, electrical and computer engineering or electronics and computer engineering technology.
• At least 2 years of job-related experience.
• Specific power system planning or operations experience (preferred).
• Experience with PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT, and VSAT (preferred).
• Previous energy industry experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with system impact studies for generator interconnection requests in MISO’s Generator Interconnection Queue.
• Review projects proposed by MISO’s Transmission Owners and provide technical recommendations.
• Communicate study results and requirements to interconnection customers, Transmission Owners, neighboring RTOs, and internal teams.
