Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking an AI Engineer to advance Generative AI initiatives across our healthcare platforms.

The role focuses on building robust AI modules, designing agentic systems, and integrating AI into enterprise workflows with a strong emphasis on safety and scalability. You will work with data scientists, engineers and policy experts to deploy high-performance ML models, create monitoring and reporting capabilities, and communicate AI capabilities clearly to business partners across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience or Master’s Degree and 1+ year focused on production AI solutions.
• Experience with Agentic AI System Design
• Experience collaborating with MLOps and DevOps teams
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, and data analysis/data mining tools
• Experience with machine learning frameworks like Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Experience with high performance, large-scale ML systems
• Experience with language modeling with transformers
• Experience with large-scale ETL

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI solutions using Python, ML and generative models like LLMs.
• Build autonomous AI agents to support reasoning and decision-making in healthcare.
• Embed AI into Humana’s systems and workflows with scalable, reliable, and compliant design.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product and Data teams to deploy and maintain AI models in production.
• Develop and maintain advanced AI/ML models and algorithms.
• Create monitoring to ensure performance and reliability.
• Prepare reports and data-driven presentations for stakeholders.
• Assist with AI coding assistants and tooling enhancements
