Job summary

Humana’s Enterprise AI organization is seeking an AI Engineer to advance Generative AI initiatives, leveraging state‑of‑the‑art LLMs to build safe, scalable AI applications that can improve care quality and outcomes for members.

You will work with a diverse team of data scientists, engineers, policy experts and business leaders to design autonomous AI agents, integrate AI into Humana’s systems, ensure responsible development, and deploy models in production with solid MLOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of applicable AI experience OR Master’s Degree and 1+ year of experience preferably with a focus on developing production-ready AI solutions
• Experience with Agentic AI System Design
• Experience collaborating with MLOps and DevOps teams
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, and data analysis/data mining tools
• Experience with machine learning frameworks like Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, or Pytorch
• Experience with high performance, large-scale ML systems
• Experience with language modeling with transformers
• Experience with large-scale ETL

Responsibilities

• AI Innovation & Responsible Generative AI: Design and develop AI solutions with Python, ML, and LLMs; ensure transparent, safe, and impactful deployment
• Agentic AI System Design: Build autonomous AI agents to support reasoning and decision-making in healthcare
• Enterprise Integration & Business Collaboration: Embed AI into Humana’s systems; partner with business teams to co-create scalable, compliant solutions
• MLOps & DevOps Collaboration: Implement best practices for deploying and maintaining AI models in production
• Execution of data science initiatives across design, development, and implementation
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact AI use cases
• Develop and maintain advanced AI/ML models and algorithms
• Design and implement robust monitoring for performance and reliability
• Create reports and projections for business stakeholders
• Experience with AI coding assistants
