Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a full-time Practice Manager for the General Surgery department, onsite at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. You report to a Director of Practice Operations and collaborate with the Medical Director and staff to run daily operations for physician, CNM and NP practices.

Responsibilities include improving patient access, policy implementation, staff performance and development, budgeting, payroll, and revenue-cycle oversight.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3–5 years experience in a physician’s office as a medical secretary/clinical assistant.
• Some management experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of medical billing and terminology expected.
• Positive, engaging interpersonal skills; ability to teach and monitor staff.

Responsibilities

• Manages practice operations with focus on high-quality patient care and compliant, efficient administration.
• Partners with leadership to implement office policies and improve workflows.
• Oversees staff performance, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintains collaborative environment and supports staff development.
• May coordinate rotations of residents/fellows and manage clinical trials.
• Plan and operationalize departmental goals with leadership; drive efficiency.
• Oversee multi-site or multi-specialty practices and manage vendor relationships.
