Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Practice Operations Manager to join the Quincy Urgent Care Center and Medical Specialties departments. This onsite role provides day-to-day oversight, staff supervision, and program development to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient operations.

The position requires coordinating with Nursing, Medical Directors, and PC leadership across seven days, with travel to off-site clinics as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 1–2 years practice management experience in medical/ambulatory setting; supervisory experience required.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Implements organizationally approved business plan with strategies, objectives, timetables, measures, and outcomes.
• Participate in interview process, hiring and onboarding of practice support staff; maintains employee records.
• Provide daily supervision of Programs staff and establish work schedules with leadership.
• Develop and implement daily operational workflows maximizing patient outcomes, provider preferences, visit volume, and interdepartmental structure.
• Oversee staff schedules and building operations in a 7-day operation including imaging, lab, and maintenance.
• Oversee front desk, patient check-in, appointment scheduling; implement revenue cycle processes and marketing new providers.
• Address performance issues with Nurse Director/Practice Administrator; support performance improvement activities.
• Foster open communication and collaboration with team, patients, and affiliates.
• Lead multidisciplinary team meetings with agendas and minutes.
• Travel periodically for outreach, marketing, and off-site clinics.
• Ensure integration with Radiology, Laboratory, Inpatient Nursing, Surgical Services, Rehab, IT, Medical Records.
• Collaborate on physician alignment; identify and operationalize workflow improvements with marketing and outreach.
• Adhere to referral management, co-pay, and billing policies.
• Assist regulatory compliance; stay updated on regulations; attend seminars and maintain affiliations.
• Participate in hospital-wide committees as appropriate.
• Assist in budget projections and monitor Urgent Care volume and dashboard metrics.
• Maintain competencies as required for patient population served.
• Perform duties in accordance with safety regulations and hospital policies.
• May perform similar duties as needed or directed.
• Promote marketing initiatives to sustain care center volume.
