Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a General Manager in Indianapolis, IN to oversee client accounts, budgets and team leadership. The GM will maintain strong client and staff relationships, manage financial reporting and menu planning in collaboration with chefs, while upholding HACCP standards and regulatory compliance.

The role requires extensive food service management experience, budgeting expertise and excellent leadership, with a focus on growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• Eight to ten years upscale food service experience including six years at management level.
• Experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision and evaluation.
• Proven track record to achieve goals in policy and procedure compliance.
• Excellent leadership, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching abilities.
• Strong problem solving, conflict management and multi-tasking capabilities.
• Experience in food purchasing, costs and inventory control.
• Cash handling and budgeting experience; HACCP knowledge.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; ServSafe or Health Dept cert is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain account in accordance with approved budget while meeting client expectations.
• Promote growth and development of the entire team and foster interdepartmental relations.
• Integrate dining service with the facility plan of operations.
• Participate in meetings, reviews and training programs.
• Manage purchasing, inventory controls and food costs.
• Plan menus in consultation with chefs and ensure HACCP controls.
• Monitor health and fire regulations compliance and ensure quality standards.
