Job summary

Mis en Place in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a General Manager to oversee daily operations of a growing upscale casual restaurant with a significant beverage program.

You will lead a front‑of‑house team in collaboration with culinary leadership to ensure exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and continuous improvement. This role emphasizes floor leadership, staff development, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in restaurant operations with responsibility for staffing and financial performance.
• Experience leading high-volume restaurant operations.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience managing teams of 20+ employees.
• Beverage inventory and liquor cost-control experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations
• Drive guest satisfaction and operational excellence
• Support beverage sales and overall restaurant profitability
• Hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop team members
• Build leadership capability within the management team
• Manage scheduling, labor, payroll, and staffing levels
• Review sales performance and operating results
• Monitor labor, food, beverage, and liquor costs
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and beverage ordering
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and maintain clear communication
• Partner closely with culinary leadership on daily execution
• Oversee POS systems, reservations, private events, and special programming
• Resolve guest concerns and lead service recovery
• Maintain food safety, liquor law, and operational compliance
• Help strengthen systems that improve consistency and performance
