Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a General Manager to lead our HVAC/plumbing division in Los Angeles. You will own the division’s operational and financial success, manage field technicians, dispatch, and P&L, and drive growth through strategic pricing and service expansion.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in construction project management, HVAC knowledge, and a strong business background with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of project management experience in construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction science or related field, or equivalent certification.
• Extensive knowledge in HVAC and general construction.
• California Driver License with clean DMV record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel software programs.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, overtime and weekends as required.
• Familiarity with job costing, scheduling, and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• P&L ownership: manage division budget, track costs, set pricing to hit gross margin targets.
• Team leadership: recruit, train, and mentor plumbers, apprentices, and office staff.
• Operational excellence: oversee dispatch, scheduling, and job workflows to maximize efficiency and reduce call-backs.
• Business growth: develop and execute strategies to expand maintenance contracts and market share.
• Customer relations: serve as escalation point for inquiries and disputes to protect brand reputation.
