Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a General Manager to lead the HVAC/plumbing division in Los Angeles. You will own the division's operations and financial success, managing field technicians, dispatch, and P&L while driving profitability and growth.

The role requires 3–5 years in construction project leadership or equivalent, with HVAC and general trades experience, and a CA driver license. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential, with flexibility for overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in managing projects in construction; or bachelor’s degree in construction science or related fields; or an equivalent certification combined with experience, and education preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and work experience in HVAC and general construction.
• California Driver License, with clean DMV record.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• P&L Ownership: Manage the division's budget, track labor and material costs, and implement strategic pricing models to hit gross profit margin targets.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor licensed plumbers, apprentices, and office staff. Foster accountability, safety, and craftsmanship.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily dispatching, scheduling, and job workflows to maximize technician efficiency and minimize call-back rates.
• Business Growth: Develop and execute sales strategies to expand commercial maintenance contracts, residential membership plans, and market share.
• Customer Relations: Escalation point for customer inquiries and project disputes to ensure brand reputation.
