Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a General Manager to lead our HVAC/plumbing division in California. You will own the division’s operations and profitability, guiding field technicians, dispatch, and office staff while driving growth and client satisfaction.

In this role, you will manage budgets, pricing strategies, and safety compliance, ensuring efficient workflows and strong gross margins. A background in HVAC/construction and leadership in trades is essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of project management in construction; or a related degree or cert with experience.
• Extensive HVAC and general construction knowledge.
• California Driver License with clean DMV record
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Proficient with MS Office and Excel; able to use job costing, scheduling and estimating tools
• Able to work in a team; prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as needed
• Journeyman/Master Plumber license is a major plus

Responsibilities

• P&L ownership: manage budget, track costs, set pricing to hit gross margin targets.
• Lead licensed plumbers, apprentices, and office staff; foster safety and craftsmanship.
• Oversee dispatching, scheduling, and job workflows to maximize efficiency.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow maintenance contracts and market share.
• Serve as final escalation for customer inquiries and disputes; protect brand reputation.
