Food Management Search, Inc. is seeking a General Manager to lead the HVAC/plumbing division in Los Angeles. You will own operations and finances, manage field technicians and dispatch, and drive profitability while ensuring safety and quality workmanship.

The role requires a proven leader with strong communication, discipline in budgeting, and the ability to scale revenue through service and maintenance contracts. Flexible scheduling, overtime, and weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in managing projects in construction; or bachelor's degree in construction science or related fields; or an equivalent certification combined with experience, and education preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and work experience in the trade of HVAC and general construction.
• California Driver License, with clean DMV record.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Strong typing skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Uses independent judgment in prioritizing and managing situations.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, overtime and weekends as required.
• Familiarity with computers and software programs for job costing, scheduling, and estimating.
• Ability to be flexible, decisive, and work effectively under pressure.
• Coordinate several major activities at once, while analyzing and resolving problems.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with many different people inside and outside of the company.
• Licensing: A valid Journeyman / Master Plumber license is a major plus, but a strong business background will be heavily considered.
• Requirements: Must pass a background check, drug screen, and possess a clean driving record.

• P&L Ownership: Manage the division's budget, track labor and material costs, and price to hit gross margin targets.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor licensed plumbers, apprentices, and office staff.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee dispatching, scheduling, and workflows to maximize technician efficiency.
• Business Growth: Develop and execute sales strategies to expand maintenance contracts and market share.
• Customer Relations: Escalate inquiries and disputes to protect the brand reputation.
