Job summary

Potbelly is seeking a General Manager in Orland Park, IL. You will lead the shop team, drive sales, manage P&L, and ensure excellent customer service in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The role requires strong leadership, food safety certification, and the ability to develop staff while upholding Potbelly values.

Base salary ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 per year with bonus potential. Expect 45+ hour weeks, flexible scheduling, and an emphasis on team culture, safety, and community

Qualifications

• Minimum of at least 2 years as a General Manager in a restaurant or retail environment with P&L responsibility preferred.
• You meet all Food Safety requirements within your state. You must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, and develop shop team members to realize their potential.
• Interview, select and hire great people who represent Potbelly values.
• Develop and maintain Good Vibes culture that fosters strong attraction & retention.
• Effectively schedule associates, certified trainers and shift leaders.
• Count drawers and follow proper daily cash handling procedures.
• Create a marketing plan and lead local shop marketing to increase sales.
• Control cost of goods, variances and inventories within the shop.
• Must spend 80-90% of time on the shop floor in the front of the house.
