Job summary

SONIC Drive-In in Goodland, Kansas is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead restaurant operations, train and support Crew/Team members, carhops, and Skating Carhops, and ensure a clean, safe, and efficient service.

You will schedule staff, manage inventory and payroll records, develop action plans to improve results, and implement marketing initiatives while upholding Sonic appearance and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced studies preferred.
• Minimum 2 years restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
• Must work a minimum of 5 days with 4 closing shifts (or 4 day workweek guaranteed) including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations.
• Leadership and supervisory practices and skills; effective verbal and written communication.
• Basic accounting and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy; multi-task and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Crew/Team members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Directs and assigns drive-in staff to meet operational standards.
• Adheres to employee handbook, policies and practices.
• Performs opening and/or closing duties.
• Prepares employee work schedules; adjusts staffing as needed.
• Monitors and maintains restaurant inventory; places orders within cost controls.
• Completes payroll and employment records for drive-in staff.
• Fosters a customer service mindset and resolves guest requests.
• Interviews and hires restaurant staff to maintain proper staffing levels.
• Prepares operational reports and develops action plans to improve financial/sales trends.
• Develops and implements a marketing plan.
