Job summary

Herman Miller is seeking a General Manager to lead store operations, coaching demonstrations, quoting, and sales generation. You will train and inspire your team to achieve the store sales plan and uphold the brand's design legacy.

As an industry leader with over a century of experience in office furnishings, you will manage hiring, performance, and employee relations in partnership with HR and the Regional Manager, reporting to the Regional Manager.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail management experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to inspire team to conduct demonstrations in a high-traffic environment.
• Strong personal performance standards, integrity and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to build relationships with reports, peers, and clients.
• Financial literacy and budget management responsibilities.
• Experience with POS systems and MS Office, web navigation, and 3-D rendering programs.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, lead, and motivate the team through coaching and training.
• Foster the Herman Miller Client Experience.
• Engage in performance management daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Ensure studio presentation meets standards using directives and manuals.
• Manage store operations to maximize profit and control expenses (scheduling, shipments, supplies).
• Resolve employee relations issues with HR support.
• Deliver the Sales Plan.
