Job summary

Buona is seeking a General Manager in Training (GMIT) in the River Forest, IL area. The program develops future General Managers with a pathway to ownership, profit-sharing, and long-term leadership within the Buona organization.

The role includes achieving sales targets, managing expenses, administering staff, and executing marketing and HR plans, with a strong emphasis on leadership and revenue growth within a family-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Leads 10+ team members per shift.
• Works with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant practices, concepts, procedures.
• Excellent administrative, multitasking, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets.

• Enforce and execute advertising, marketing plans, and HR training materials.
• Manage and control direct expenses.
• Oversee labor, food cost variances, repairs, and other direct expenses.
• Select, retain, supervise, and train all employees.
• Conduct quarterly reviews and ensure training programs are followed.
• Determine advancement or termination decisions.
• Develop employees into shift managers.
• Provide guidance to the team and lead toward success.
• Support Buona's balanced corporate structure and family culture.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and controls.

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $85,000/annually

• Direct labor, food cost variances, repairs and maintenance, discounts, and other direct expenses
• Selection, retention, supervision, and training of all employees
• Conduct quarterly reviews
• Adhere to established training programs
• Determine advancement/termination
• Develop employees into shift managers
• Provide guidance to our talented & motivated team and lead them toward success

• Enforce policies, procedures, and controls
