Job description

This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee holds a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products, but is a separate company and employer. All employment matters—hiring, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling—are handled by the franchisee. McDonald’s USA has no involvement in any employment decisions.

Responsibilities

The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. The General Manager works with leadership to set restaurant goals and create plans to achieve them.

The General Manager leads a team of Department Managers, each with specific responsibilities. The General Manager helps Department Managers set goals, follows up on progress, and provides coaching and direction to improve their departments. By improving the departments, the restaurant improves. The General Manager may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should have previous General Manager experience running high‑volume locations. A background in quick service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail. Candidates must be 18 years or older to manage a corporate‑owned and operated restaurant.
