Summary

Under the general supervision of the Facilities Management Foreman, performs a variety of duties including work orders, demolition, moving equipment, working with helpers to tradesmen, replacement of light bulbs and air filters, renovations, construction, and groundskeeping.

Responsibilities

1. Performs maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance throughout the hospital.
2. Assists in renovation projects, including demolition and new construction.
3. Performs in at least one trade in a limited capacity.
4. Performs outside work on the grounds.
5. Provides coverage as needed for the driver and second shift personnel.
6. Works as helpers with electricians, plumbers, steamfitters, carpenters, and painters as needed.
7. Maintains quality assurance, safety, environment, and infection control standards per hospital policies.
8. Performs all duties safely and professionally, complying with department policies and procedures.
9. Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles as required by regulations and policies.
10. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of tools and basic trades.
• Three years of general maintenance experience.
• May provide technical supervision of assigned personnel.
