Job description

Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Facilities Management Foreman, performs a variety of duties including work orders, demolition, moving equipment, working with helpers to tradesmen, replacement of light bulbs and air filters, renovations, construction, and groundskeeping.

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance work throughout the hospital, either independently or in assistance.
  2. Assists with renovation projects, including demolition and new construction.
  3. Performs limited work in at least one trade.
  4. Performs various outdoor groundskeeping tasks.
  5. Provides coverage as needed for the driver and second shift personnel.
  6. Works as a helper with electricians, plumbers/steamfitters, carpenters, and painters as needed.
  7. Maintains quality assurance, safety, environment, and infection control standards in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  8. Performs all duties safely and professionally, adhering to Bradley Hospital Facilities Management policies and Fleet Risk Control procedures.
  9. Possesses a valid driver’s license and maintains a good driving record to operate motor vehicles as required by regulations and hospital policies.
  10. Performs other related duties as required.

Other information:

Basic Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of tools and basic understanding of trades.

Experience:

  • At least three years of general maintenance experience.

Supervisory Responsibility:

May provide technical supervision of assigned personnel.
