Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Technical Specialist, General Liability to manage an active caseload of injury and property damage claims from first notice of loss through resolution. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with licensing and travel as needed.

You will guide less experienced Claim Reps, work with counsel on litigation strategies, and adapt to evolving AI tools and enterprise platforms while upholding Travelers’ standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Two years of bodily injury liability, property damage liability, or comparable claim related experience.
• Active adjuster license, where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims and litigation from first notice of loss through resolution within level of authority.
• Gather and thoroughly investigate information by contacting all relevant parties to determine coverage, evaluate liability exposure, assess bodily injury and/or property damage, and establish appropriate reserves in accordance with policy terms and management guidance.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers, representatives, opposing counsel, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Leverage resolution strategies and coordinate internal and external resources to conduct comprehensive claim investigations and evaluations.
• Actively negotiate with multiple constituents (e.g., claimants, attorneys, contractors, representatives) and convey claim settlements within authority and issue payments timely and accurately.
• Assist in coordinating with Counsel to support litigation management strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.
• Identify areas in which we can improve or enhance current best practices and offer creative solutions.
• Adapt to new technology implementations, system upgrades, and digital tool rollouts, particularly in the areas of AI while maintaining productivity and service quality.
