Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced General Liability Claims professional to independently investigate, evaluate and resolve severe Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims. You will manage the claim life cycle, communicate with insureds and stakeholders, and coordinate with counsel and specialists to achieve fair and timely resolutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Two years bodily injury liability claim handling experience or comparable litigation claim experience.
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly handles assigned severe claims.
• Provides quality customer service and ensures file quality and timely coverage analysis and communication with insured based on policy information.
• Consults with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel as needed.
• Directly investigates each claim through prompt contact with policyholders, claimants, law enforcement, witnesses and experts to determine liability and damages.
• Maintains claim files and documents claim file activities.
• Establishes and maintains proper indemnity and expense reserves.
• Negotiates disposition of claims with insureds and claimants or their legal representatives.
• Manages litigated claims with a proper litigation plan and cost control.
