Job summary

Nelnet is hiring a Remote Full-time GenAI Platform Engineer to own the technical build and deployment of Gemini-based agents, RAG pipelines, and model integrations for higher education clients.

You will translate backlog items into working solutions, collaborate with Data and AgentOps Engineers, and ensure quality before releases. Visa sponsorship is not offered; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building GenAI/agentic AI solutions in production.
• Direct experience with Gemini Enterprise Platform or Vertex AI preferred; quick ramp on Google Cloud Stack.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants and GenAI applications on the Gemini Enterprise Platform.
• Implement RAG pipelines and grounding using platform capabilities.
• Integrate Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol and multi-agent orchestration.
• Build live API and tool-calling integrations for real-time actions in client systems.
• Maintain documentation of solution architecture and integration points.
• Deliver solutions on schedule and provide technical estimates.
