Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a GenAI Platform Engineer to own the build and deployment of agentic AI solutions on Google Cloud using Gemini Enterprise Platform. You will translate backlog items into working solutions, implement RAG pipelines, and ensure high-quality integration with client systems and data, collaborating closely with Data and Ops engineers.

The role requires hands-on experience with GenAI/agentic AI, Gemini/Vertex AI, and strong Python skills.

Qualifications

• Hands-on GenAI/agentic AI solutions in production.
• Experience with Gemini Enterprise Platform or Vertex AI.
• Knowledge of RAG pipelines and grounding with enterprise data.
• Strong Python and SDK experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic assistants and GenAI apps.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and grounding.
• Integrate Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol and multi-agent orchestration.
• Ensure release readiness with tests and quality reviews.
• Collaborate with Data Engineer and AgentOps Engineer on delivery.
