Job summary

FedEx Logistics in Elk Grove Village, IL, seeks a gateway operations professional to manage air freight consolidations, scheduling, and compliance with US export regulations.

You will coordinate with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centers, train staff on gateway procedures, and resolve billing issues with airline partners while pursuing continuous process improvements to maximize efficiency and service levels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of US export regulations, ports and geography.
• Experience with Official Airline Guide (OAG) and The Air Cargo Tariff (TACT) Act.
• Gateway/warehouse operations knowledge.
• Certified to process Dangerous Goods shipments for Air Transport.
• Strong analytical and math skills.
• Air Export Gateway and airline experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer requirements are met and take corrective actions.
• Interact with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centers.
• Prepare, control, update and distribute documents for consolidation/deconsolidation.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
• Schedule and monitor handling of consolidations and shipments.
• Distribute work to gateway staff; train employees on gateway procedures.
• Follow up with feeder stations to ensure timeliness of delivery and compliance with regulations.
• Negotiate spot rates with airline partners.
• Resolve billing issues with airline partners.
• Work with vendors to ensure high level of service.
