Carvana is seeking a boots-on-the-ground Safe & Secure associate at our Elyria site to protect people and vehicles while keeping operations open in all weather. You’ll be the face of Carvana at the gate for associates, vendors and visitors, and you’ll perform security tasks across the lot, including inspections and safety checks.

This hourly, full-time role emphasizes service, clear communication, incident response and collaboration with Inspection Center and Logistics teams.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A track record of solid decision-making in a complex, fast-moving environment.
• Ability to build strong working relationships and connect with people quickly.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to handle conflict in a positive, productive way.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a service-first mindset in every interaction.
• Live the Carvana values and ensure they’re felt by everyone you work with.
• Be the face of Carvana at the gate for associates, vendors, and visitors.
• Communicate clearly and actively listen to signals.
• Monitor live cameras, review footage, and investigate intrusion alerts to keep on-site secure.
• De-escalate when needed and collaborate with partners to resolve issues.
• Run point at the gate using the SAS App and RFID tech to control ingress/egress.
• Document vehicle movement through the Inspection Center gates.
• Be trained in first aid, CPR, and AED and use these skills when necessary.
• Know emergency protocols cold and act decisively when seconds count.
• Keep the site operational in any weather and enforce safety procedures.
• Drive safety-first culture by spotting hazards and conducting safety audits.
• Scan thousands of vehicles daily using on-site tech and manual scans.
