Job summary

Carvana is seeking a safety-focused gate attendant for our Safe & Secure team in a boots-on-the-ground role. You will be the face of Carvana at the gate, helping protect associates, customers, and vehicles while maintaining secure operations across weather and shifting conditions.

The position emphasizes rapid decision-making in a fast-paced environment, strong communication, and collaboration with Inspection Center and Logistics teams.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• A track record of solid decision-making in a complex, fast-moving environment.
• Ability to build strong working relationships and connect with people quickly.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to handle conflict in a positive, productive way.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a service-first mindset in every interaction.
• Live Carvana values and ensure they’re felt by everyone you work with.
• Be the face of Carvana at the gate for associates, vendors, and visitors.
• Communicate clearly and actively listen to signals.
• Monitor live cameras and investigate intrusion alerts to prevent issues.
• De-escalate and collaborate with teams when tensions rise.
• Manage ingress/egress using SAS App and RFID, enforcing procedures.
• Document vehicle movement and inspect center entrances/exits.
• Be trained in first aid, CPR, and AED and use when needed.
• Know emergency protocols cold to act decisively.
