Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Safety & Security Associate to guard the gate, monitor security systems, and enforce ingress/egress procedures. You will work with the Safe & Secure team to protect associates, customers, and vehicles across our site.

Expect a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground role with training in first aid and emergency protocols. We value reliability, clear communication, and the ability to respond decisively in stressful situations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• A track record of solid decision-making in a complex, fast-moving environment.
• Ability to build strong working relationships and connect with people quickly.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to handle conflict in a positive, productive way.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a service-first mindset in every interaction.
• Live the Carvana values and ensure they’re felt by everyone you work with.
• Be the face of Carvana at the gate for associates, vendors, and visitors.
• Communicate clearly and actively listen to avoid missed signals.
• Monitor live cameras, review footage, and investigate intrusion alerts to keep site secure.
• De-escalate situations, partner with other teams, and maintain safety at all times.
• Run gate operations using the SAS App and RFID, enforcing ingress/egress consistently.
• Document vehicle movement through gates and inspections.
• Receive first aid, CPR, and AED training and use as needed.
• Keep the site operational in all weather and conditions.
