Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in West Point, Nebraska is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor for the Galvanizing department on the Day Shift.

You will oversee production, material flow, and quality control, ensuring shipping commitments are met and safety standards are followed on a daily basis. You will lead a team of 20–30 employees, enforce procedures, train staff, coordinate with maintenance and scheduling, and ensure EPA/OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years supervisory or management experience in an industrial environment.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to present information one-on-one and in front of an audience.

Responsibilities

• Implements work schedule to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and materials and assign work to hourly employees.
• Processes parts and/or components to meet production schedule and informs Production Manager of difficulties.
• Defines results and standards of performance expected of assigned personnel.
• Monitors performance of assigned personnel and conducts performance reviews.
• Reports discrepancies in blueprints, specifications, methods and standards to Production Manager.
• Ensures product quality meets standards and supervises inspections as required.
• Maintains knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations; ensures compliance.
• Trains new employees into department activities and safety procedures.
• Maintains housekeeping and safe working conditions in the production area.
