Job summary

Valmont Industries in Salina, KS seeks a Shift Supervisor to oversee Galvanizing production, manage material flow, and assure quality. You will lead daily shop operations, set priorities, and ensure safety, training, and PPE compliance.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will monitor performance, maintain records, coordinate with schedulers, and drive continuous improvement to meet shipping commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of leadership experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Fluent in English; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule work to maximize utilization of manpower, machines and materials.
• Process parts to meet production schedule and advise on difficulties meeting plans.
• Monitor performance and conduct employee performance reviews.
• Ensure product quality meets standards and inspections are conducted.
• Report and investigate incidents in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate time and production reporting.
• Lead shift start up meetings and monthly safety meetings.
• Train new employees in department activities and safety procedures.
• Enforce company policies consistently.
• Support meeting shipping commitments.
