Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor for the Global Coating Division in Williamstown, NJ. The role supervises 10–20 production staff on the galvanizing floor, trains and mentors team members, and ensures adherence to safety, quality, and production procedures.

You will define work assignments, monitor performance, and optimize manpower and equipment use while upholding company policies and procedures. Prior supervisory experience and knowledge of safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in supervisory or management position with a proven record of strong leadership capabilities.
• Ability to recognize hazardous substance and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
• Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner.
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
• Ability to use simple computer entry software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, motivate, and mentor approximately 10-20 production employees in the Galvanizing facility.
• Define and assign work stations and duties; monitor production standards and performance.
• Schedule shifts to maximize manpower, machines, and equipment utilization.
• Ensure quality checks and safety procedures are followed on the production floor.
• Promote continuous productivity improvements and administer company policies fairly.
