Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in the United States is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to develop leadership skills and oversee departments within the club. You will work closely with the Club Manager to drive performance, coach team members, and ensure GOLD standards and member satisfaction.

This role prepares you for one of three leadership tracks—Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience—while delivering consistent execution, training, onboarding, and safety compliance across

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Strong drive for results; honest, straightforward, and committed to high levels of service.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and motivate a large team.
• Solid understanding of shrink controls, merchandising, customer service, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
• Completion of company training program may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members; oversee certification and training.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling aligned with trends and budgets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management; ensure in-stock conditions.
• Champion Member Experience standards (GAA, GOLD, LAST) across departments.
• Ensure compliance and safety; lead audits and resolve issues with minimal escalation.
• Support special initiatives and transitions; coordinate with leadership.
• Maintain equipment and facilities; ensure clean, stocked, and safe operations.
