Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to lead assigned departments and guide teams toward exceptional member experiences. You will work closely with the Club Manager to drive performance, uphold GOLD standards, and ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role emphasizes talent development, audit compliance, and cross-functional leadership while preparing you for progression into one of the AMIT tracks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store, supermarket, or warehouse operations management.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.
• Forklift operator required; open shift availability; 18+ years old.
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, Email).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned departments (Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience).
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members to ensure confident and capable staff.
• Oversee Labor Planning and Scheduling to align with trends and targets.
• Drive Sales, Inventory Control, and Shrink Management through execution.
• Champion compliance with food safety, sanitation, OSHA, audits and internal controls.
