South Side Flats Animal Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a friendly Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This full-time position requires availability every other Saturday and involves greeting clients, scheduling, check-in/out, and coordinating prescriptions.

You will support veterinarians and the clinical team, maintain accurate records, and keep the front desk organized while delivering compassionate service to pets and their families.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary reception experience is preferred, but training is available.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Friendly, compassionate, and professional demeanor.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Veterinary Receptionist – Join Our Team!

Are you friendly, organized, and passionate about helping pets and the people who love them? South Side Flats Animal Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist to become the welcoming face of our practice! This is a full-time position that requires you to be available every other Saturday.

Our reception team plays an essential role in creating a positive experience for every client—from the first phone call to the moment they head home with their pet.

What You’ll Do:

• Greet clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client communications
• Check patients in and out and process payments
• Maintain accurate client and patient records
• Help coordinate prescription requests and follow-up care
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians and clinical team members
• Provide compassionate support during both routine and emotional visits
• Keep the reception area organized, welcoming, and running smoothly
• Monitor and manage the hospital’s email inbox, responding promptly and professionally and directing messages to the appropriate team member.
• Ensure patients are scheduled for their next recommended visit before leaving the hospital, supporting continuity of care.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills
• A friendly, compassionate, and professional approach
• Strong organization and attention to detail
• The ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
• Dependability and a team-focused attitude
• Previous veterinary or medical reception experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
