Job summary

West Hartford Public Schools in Connecticut seeks a full-time Registered Behavior Technician at Norfeldt Elementary School. You will support students with social-emotional-behavioral needs, implement IEP goals, collect data, and assist with behavioral and academic supports.

Requirements include completing the 40-hour online RBT training with BCBA supervision, passing the RBT Competency Assessment, initial exam and recertification, and current or obtainable Physical Management Training

Qualifications

• Completion of required training including 40-hour online course, required supervision hours by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
• Must have passing score on the RBT Competency Assessment.
• Must pass the initial RBT examination and annual recertification process.
• Must have current certification or be able to obtain certification in Physical Management Training.
• Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, have demonstrated completion of high school or equivalent/higher, and pass all necessary background checks.

Responsibilities

• Implement student Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Maintain and report student records.
• Communicate with classroom teachers regarding student progress.
• Perform Physical Management in the event of an emergency.
• Discharges duties in accordance with RBT Ethics Code.
• Other duties as assigned by a supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Pupil Services Department Supervisor.
