Job summary

Telecare Corporation in Oakland, CA is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach I to engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served to explore and meet their recovery goals. The role supports Telecare’s Recovery Centered Clinical System and requires de-escalation during emergencies.

Shifts are Full-Time (AM/DAYS), 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a starting wage of $23.00 to $23.71 per hour. Sign-On bonus of $3,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Peer Certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
• CalMHSA Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification must be obtained within 120 days.
• One year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members with behavioral health challenges.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system.
• Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance, listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups.

Responsibilities

• Engage, inspire, and facilitate conversations to help members explore and meet recovery goals.
• Provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture under RCCS.
• Respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation to maintain a least restrictive environment.
