Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group in Hartford, CT is seeking dedicated Instructional Support Paraprofessionals for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves working closely with teachers, special education staff, and school teams to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs, both in one-on-one and small-group settings.

Ideal candidates are patient, dependable, and student-focused, with strong communication skills and a commitment to building confidence, independence, and success

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification is a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supporting students with diverse needs is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to follow instructional plans and behavioral strategies as directed.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one, small-group, and classroom-wide instructional support.
• Reinforce teacher-led lessons and routines.
• Assist students with academic tasks and skill development activities.
• Support implementation of IEPs, accommodations, and classroom modifications.
• Monitor student engagement and progress; report observations to school team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records as required.
