Job summary

Vanguard College Prep is seeking educators to build lasting core skills in English for middle and high school students. You will teach small groups, align with a multi-phase curriculum, and model professionalism with organized communication.

The ideal candidate holds a humanities degree from US schools, has 1+ years teaching English, a strong GPA, and proficiency with MS Office and online tools. The role offers base pay 20–24 USD/hour, health insurance, PTO, and winter vacations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in humanities from US Schools (Master's or higher preferred).
• Teaching English or college-level Writing Center experience (1+ years).
• Demonstrated academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
• Access to reliable internet and a quiet workspace.
• Commitment to working during Hours of Operations: Mondays and Fridays closed; Tue–Thu 1:30 pm–9:30 pm CST; Sat–Sun 9:30 am–5:30 pm CST.

Responsibilities

• Teach and inspire small groups of students in English core skills for college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).
• Track students' progress through Vanguard's multi-phase curriculum and provide individualized growth opportunities.
• Maintain and update student lesson schedules, hold students accountable for assignments, and model professionalism with strong communication.
• Innovate by developing and executing evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
• Mentor middle and high school students with empathy through the college application process.
