Vanguard College Prep is seeking educators to teach English core skills and prepare students for ACT and SAT, with a focus on individualized growth and long-term understanding.

This full-time role offers base pay of $20.00–$24.00 per hour (40 hours/week), plus comprehensive health insurance and paid time off. Ideal candidates hold a humanities degree, have English teaching experience, and demonstrate a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in humanities from US schools (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.) (Master's or higher preferred)
• Teaching experience in English and/or college-level Writing Center (1+ years)
• Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA)
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites
• Access to reliable internet and a quiet workspace
• Commitment to work during Hours of Operations: Mondays and Fridays closed; Tue–Thu 1:30 pm–9:30 pm CST; Sat–Sun 9:30 am–5:30 pm CST

Responsibilities

• Teach small groups of students in English core skills to promote long-term understanding and top scores
• Track students' progress through Vanguard's multi-phase curriculum
• Maintain and update lesson schedules, hold students accountable for assignments, and communicate professionally
• Spearhead development and execution of evolving lesson plans and curriculum
• Mentor middle and high school students navigating college applications
